The Sun Coast complete transmission assembly offers you the ultimate in performance and durability, needed to deliver your Cummins, Power Stroke, and Duramax’s power to the ground. The Sun Coast transmission includes increased clutch count, rigid bands, steel planet carriers, pump modifications. All transmissions are rebuilt to exacting specifications with new bushings, seals, rings, frictions, and steels.

All hard parts are inspected, machined, or replaced to meet our specifications. These blueprinted assemblies include the Sun Coast valve body and are available with the Mag-Hytec double deep pan option. All transmissions are dyno tested to assure pressure and flow calibrations.

The Sun Coast diesel torque converters, designed and manufactured by Sun Coast, are engineered to improve the efficiency of your vehicle from off idle to maximum RPM. Sun Coast converters are designed to maximize the efficiency of a vehicles engine and torque converter combination to improve the acceleration and pulling power of your diesel truck. With the engine performance enhancements available for diesel engines, a more efficient and durable torque converter is required to optimize the vehicles performance.

Sun Coast torque converters include the latest in converter technology and are suitable for highly modified diesel engines. If your truck is used for towing (5th wheel travel trailer, horse or livestock trailer, boat or equipment trailer) the Sun Coast converter will vastly improve the performance and reliability of your truck. The Sun Coast converter features our multiple 3-disc clutch along with our billet steel cover to provide 3 times the torque capacity of the factory converter. Sun Coast does not use "one size fits all". Utilizing our billet "radial pull" stators, Sun Coast offers a converter specifically designed for your application. The valve body controls gear selection, line pressure (clamping force), line rise (meeting torque demand), converter mode, flow and pressure, along with shift timing and quality. The Sun Coast valve body addresses all of these areas to enhance transmission operation and durability. The Sun Coast valve body allows for crisper shifts, enhanced converter operation, cooler operating temperatures, and increased lube flow. Full time converter feed assures lube flow while in the park position and under high throttle conditions. Torque converter clutch loc-up can be achieved in all forward gears when used in conjunction with a controller. This feature is desirable for optimum exhaust brake operation. Sun Coast offers a choice of valve body calibrations to fit your application.

Over the past decade, automotive manufacturers have incorporated major power and performance enhancements to both gasoline, and especially diesel powered vehicles. In fact, many of these specialty engines have an amazing amount of torque under the hood. Some vehicles on the other hand, are designed to simply provide good economic value. From the factory, your vehicle should be equipped to give you either the power you are looking for, or the economy you need. In the real world however, it's not that simple. There are times when you really need the extra power; like when pulling heavy loads. Then there are other times when you really need the fuel economy; like when cruising at high speed with no loads. It is for this reason that US Gear offers TWO DIFFERENT AUXILIARY TRANSMISSIONS; AN UNDERDRIVE UNIT OR AN OVERDRIVE UNIT, MADE IN AMERICA. No other manufacturer in the industry can make that claim.

Why Two Different Units?

From the factory, your vehicle comes with only one rear-end ratio. So what happens when sometimes you're heavy and in need of those extra low end gears to get you up and moving while other times you're light and need the higher gears to get you moving faster and more economically? The fact is that one extremely low gear ratio does not offer the gear selection necessary to provide both low speed power and high speed economy. And what about the times when you're at high speed and suddenly need just a little more power, but don't have enough gears to comfortably get any. Conversely, if you are at low speed and suddenly need to be moving quicker, there's simply no way to make it happen. To keep the engine in its maximum power range, Dual Range offers twice the number of different gears to easily move you to the closest gear necessary for your immediate needs...all with a push of a button.

The overdrive unit gives you twice as many higher gear ratios than you originally had for more pulling performance, while the underdrive gives you twice as many lower gears for that extra power you need to get your weight moving easier with less throttle. Whichever unit you choose, you will improve economy, and decrease wear and tear on the engine.
